Poker Night 4.6.07 Good Friday

Hello all,

Here is the signup list for the next game. The game is to take place on Good Friday. Hopefully it will be a very Good Friday for me.

Any thoughts on the minor changes to this past game? Many people thought that the blinds went quick, but they were the same length we have been using all year with the exception of the previous game. The differences were
1. the omission of the 40/80 and 400/800 blinds
2. the addition of the 150/300 and 800/1600 blinds
3. an additional 500 in chips.
The games were quick and we did get started right on time. Each game took about 2 1/2 hours and everything was cleaned up and cars put in the garage by 1:00am which I really liked. (Thanks for those who stuck around and helped out this past week and in weeks previous.)

I am open to suggestions on what people would like to see. Do you want to put the blinds back to how they were? Would you like to keep the additional blinds and maybe put back one of the blinds? Would you like to lengthen the blinds from 13 min to 15 min? Did you like the additional chips?

If you don't make it to the next game I would like to wish you all a good Easter.

Later,
Kurt

Liked it although I didn't like the results.
Still would like 1,000 more chips and points for all.
So long first place it was fun while it lasted.
Bill I hope what you have is not catchy.
Who invited Scott!!

I did like the new format. The extra chips are nice, but I wouldn't mind increasing it even more. It seems you can become short stacked more quickly with the new blind structure. Plus, more chips for Greg would mean more chips for me!!! See you on 4/6.

I thought it was fine and I have no real opinion on this, just go with the flow. You all know more about this than I do.

Good Friday, George and Andy are out. With the risk of going to hell and all the mediterranean guilt, I AM IN! I will go to church in the afternoon with all the little kids. Works for me. See you then, Elaine (this could all change too!)

Dave S Is in. I thought last time was smoothest I've seen.

It was good even though Mohammad gets lucky AGAIN!

I do think that the blinds should be 15 min (only 2 more) and maybe put the 40/80 back but remove the 10/20. I think the 10/20 is totally useless...

2K starting chips are good... It most likely isn't necessary to increase this. If we do as a trial, maybe to 2,500? It really shouldn't make the game much longer...

Also, my stepson would like to attend the 2nd game... He can't make the 1st game since he works till 8... If you see this as a problem, let me know... I know we usually have room in the 2nd game...

Why break my streak...John is GONE on 4/6.

I can't speak from experience (since I haven't been there the last two times) but I'm glad to see you're fine-tuning the format. I don't think 15 min blinds are a good idea if you want to finish by 1 am, but what do I know? I'll have to play with the new blind levels (150/300, etc.) to see what I think, but it sounds interesting.

See you next time (4/20?),
John

Paul is out for the 6th. I liked this last format and skipping some of the blind stages. I would not mind 15 minute intervals and $2500 in starting chips.

I am in for the 6th.

the extra chips were good but there still seems to be a lot of short stacks around the same time in the tourney.

I agree with eliminating the 10/20 blind; it is very useless in reference to the stacks (no one seems to fold to the 3x $60 raise). I would suggest putting back the 40/80 in its place.

I'm in for 4/4/07.

I thought the extra chips were alright but it really didn't affect me too much. I think th 40/80 stage was obviously missed. All in all, I thought things went well. See everybody then.

If the applicant shows interest at this particular point and is satisfied with the answers to any questions that he may ask about possible employment, he is then given an application blank. It will, however, get some essential information. The individual reader may question the necessity for some of the items and may quarrel with the omission of some others. There will always be a difference of opinion in this particular respect, but this form omits many things that are not essential; it does get most of the essential information. It also avoids inquiring into many personal matters which certainly should be no business or concern of the employer. Application blanks have been used which inquire as to how much money the applicant's wife has, how much they spent in buying their home, and what their annual budget is for food and clothing. Such items are considered by most people of experience as ridiculous nonsense and an invasion of the rights of the individual. The ideal application blank will not ask what magazines or newspapers the individual reads. Arm Yourself Against Illegal Interview Questions Increase your self-confidence, Last year: $89,262
