There is a good possibility that this will be the last time we see Ryan for quite some time. He is thinking about returning to school on a full-time basis and living on campus. This leaves us with a vacancy in duties. Ryan has been acting as treasurer and collecting the money and also paying out the winners. This has been a huge help. If someone is willing to take over the duties of this thankless chore please let me know. You need to be reliable and show up by 6:30pm.
Next, please do not invite anymore people. At the beginning of the year we said no new people and somehow that has gone by the wayside. I really do not want to have more than 30 people on any given night. I would rather have 20 people on a slow night than have more than 30 people and tell someone that they cannot come.
I have also noticed that people are not coming on time. Is this problem due to the fact that we are starting to early or are people just getting lazy.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me if you do not want to post it on the blog.

About the start time...I admit I am notoriously late, and as I have always said, I prefer a later start but can appreciate that with the size of our group it is a compromise between later start and later finish, and with some of you working Sat AMs, a 1 AM finish is pretty late as it is.
I remember when we started at "715" so that the cards were in the air by 730, but to move the end earlier we changed the start to "645" so the cards were in the air by 7pm. Then, with the new 7pm getting stretched to 715, we eventually made 645 a "hard" time with the cards being dealt at 645 sharp (though 7 sharp might have been more appropriate.)
645 pm is difficult for some people, especially with the new school year approaching and some of us “chauffeuring” our kid(s) to after-school activities. It was suggested last time that if you were not “paid” (in person, or have someone do it for you) by the 645 start, you will sit out until the end of the blind level. I can appreciate how it is disruptive to come in late (like I did last week) and have the “treasurer” interrupt his hand to take your buy-in.
I propose we move the start time to 7pm, make it a hard time, and adopt the rule suggested regarding sitting out the level if not paid by start time. The extra 15 minutes would make a big difference for me, and the hard start time will most likely be respected by all.
Of course, majority rules, so if it’s 645 so be it, but you have my vote for 7pm. Thanks for reading my post.

Paul will be there. I would not mind an extra five or ten minutes before the start. When the there are only three players at a table for the first couple hands, it does not feel competetive. And it would give me a couple extra minutes to stop for a coffee.
