Friday night Poker 2010

Greg and I have been talking about co-hosting the poker next year. I would hold it in my garage during the colder months since my garage is heated and Greg would host it in his garage during the warmer months.

We are talking about several changes for next year. Some of the bigger changes are

1. Buy-in we are looking at $10/game and 5$ for end of year
2. Chairs bring your own chair every week (if you forget it you can stand)
take your chair home every night (you can find it out at the trash the next day)
3. Sign up sign up will be cut off at noon on Thursday the day before - if you are not signed up by then do not show up

If you have any comments or suggestions please feel free to post.

I like it, The main reason I haven't been coming is $45 dollars is a lot for me to be able to give away, and $25 sounds fine to me. As for the other two items I can def do that. Look forward to returning full time in 2010.

Great idea sharing the locale. Fine with the buy-in, but maybe pay only top 3?

(a little harsh about the chairs don't you think, Commandant?)

Locale sounds great. How about 15 for buy-in? Any rules on the max number of people? would regulars get priority (if posted by thursday) if we max out?

Still pay top 4.

Kurt/Greg,
Thank you for offering your place. What ever you or the group decide will be fine. I am just happy to have something to do on Friday nights.

Thanks.

What if we have one game with a $20 buy in,$5 to house & a $10 add-on for 1/2 the original stack.

It would work the following way:
1. $20 - starting stack = 10K
2. If a player drops below 5K stack within the 1st 4 levels can buy a $10 add-on of 5K.
3. Levels 20 minutes
4. Add-on would be optional and only for players below 5K stack

The above would allow for a decent prize pool and any player who loses a substantial amount of chips within the 1st 4 levels can keep playing longer for only $10 more. Currently 2 games cost $45, this format would never get higher than $35 dollars.

Just a suggestion....

thanks, Matt

I think $10 is a bit on the low side. Guess it all comes down to whether we end up with one tournament, or the two. Personally I like the two because it gives you something to look forward to, even if you had some donkey shove all-in with only 8 outs and catches on you... If it is the one game you're done for the night, which kind of sucks since many of us look forward all week to Friday night. If we go with the one tournament then I like the idea of a $20 initial buy-in, with the possibility of a 1/2 re-buy, for $10, if you go out/get below a certain amount, during a specified time-frame. I also like the idea of trying this before the start of the new year in order to see if we can create a 5 hour-ish tournament.
