We are still working on where the next game will be played, so check back to this site for further updates.
The following are some stats from the first night.
1. The rebuy period was 1 hour and 20 min. There were 5 rebuys - this is 25%. The first rebuy was at 30 min mark, then there were 3 more right around the 45 min mark and one at the end of the rebuy period.
2. The first person was knocked out at the 1 hour and 10 min mark, the 2nd person was knocked out at 1 hour and 50 min mark, third person 2 hour mark, 4th person 2 hour 5 min mark.
3. The final table was started at 10:00pm which was 3 hours into the game.
4. The game ended at about 11:10pm.
Greg and Kurt were looking at having the game end between 11 and 12 so we thought this was a successful night.
$100 was collected for the end of the year tournament. Greg and I will be taking some money out of this for propane unless people do not think we needed the heater.

I'm out for the 22'nd, made plans for Celtics game. What was I thinking.
Thought the night went great and wouldn't change anything unless a negative pattern developed.

I will not be there either. I have a previous engagement. That is why it is not at my place. I was very happy with how the game went. Someone did leave a blue metal fold up chair. I believe Elaine put it in her trunk.

The new format is a GREAT improvement - makes for a MUCH better game.
The one thing I would adjust is the 500/1000 (+100) level to be 600/1200 (+100 ante).
The jump from
400/800 +100 to
500/1000+100 to
800/1600+200 doesn't make sense (IMHO).
Thought the game went fine, but my feet were frozen after the first hour and a half -- and I was directly in front of the heater! Put us in for the 22nd, but if it's Greg's garage and it's 20 degrees outside, I'm out - Alice and Tim.
(Greg, if you can get the tables to my house, the loft above my garage is heated and comfortable. Only problem - bathroom facilities are in the house. Plenty of parking though!)
I am in for the 22nd at the moment. Hopefully my work phone stops ringing long enough for me to play. See y'all wherever the game is played.

I am in for the 22nd. Understanding that you are looking for a warm place to hold the tournament, let's talk at the banquet about one possibility. I thought the game was ok, though was bummed to be home before 10pm. But the runner-runner bad beat I took will hopefully not be the norm. I also agree with John about the extra blind level. A $600/$1200 level wouldn't likely add too much time to the overall tournament. In regards to the propene, I wonder how much it is? And not sure if it really made a big difference.

I think the game went fine for the first time out... I agree with John even though I didn't survive up to that point...
I didn't like the 19 minute blind then 1 minute at the higher level (which our table didn't increase until the next 19)
If you really want that separation, the 1 minute "level" should be the same blinds...
It should just be 20, 20, 20 and at the 1 minute "warning buzzer" it would be time to pay...

For violating the leagues rules by 1 hour 11 minutes Andy is out (thanks for posting elaine)-even though the leagues commish and vice commish did not look at the counts till 4:38. Guess being busy with logistics for Haiti was not a reason to violate league rules. As for the penalty it was sent to Haiti.
